It seems more than a little incongruous to write about festivals, when I’m tapping away shrouded in a blanket and with a hot water bottle in an attempt to thaw out on a bitterly cold night. However, festival season will be upon us soon enough and today I bring you announcements about Liverpool Sound City and The Jodrell Bank sessions in Manchester and The Eden Sessions in Cornwall.
The biggest news is that Sigur Rós will be headlining at Jodrell Bank in Manchester and Eden Sessions
Following their March tour in support of Valtari, the band will bring their live show to the Biomes of the Eden Project on June 30th and then the infront of a giant telescope at the Jodrell Bank Observatory. The special venues seem entirely fitting and if these shows are anything like the Somerset House gig I saw them do in 2005, audiences are sure to have a transformative experience!
Tickets for Eden Session cost £35 plus £5 booking fee and go on general release on Wednesday 23rd January.
Tickets for the Manchester show go on Sale this Friday 18th January at 9am at cost £35
Elsewhere in Festival land, the North’s huge music showcase Liverpool Sound City has announced its first crop of acts for the event that takes place on 2nd– 4th May.
The Walkmen, Toy, Tracey Thorn, and Chapel Club will all play with more announcements coming soon.
