Yes dearest reader, they’ve only gone and bloody reformed (with a *caveat) but after going on ‘indefinite hiatus’ in 1999; Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, Mark Ibold, Scott “Spiral Stairs” Kannenberg and Steve West are reuniting for a world tour in 2010.
The tour won’t kick off until September (well, they are certainly giving fair warning for tickets sales!) with the first date being Rumsey Playfield, Central Park, New York. I’m not expecting that anyone reads my scribblings across the sea, but just in case: pre sales go on sale this Friday. The general on-sale is slated for 10:00 AM EDT on Friday, September 25, 2009.
*While they might be riding the current reformation zeitgeist; Pavement have made it clear that the tour does not necessarily mean a permanent return.
Still, bask in the knowledge a little while, I know I am! My money is on a Don’t Look Back gig or ATP performance. Fingers crossed anyway.
