Deardoorian
Deradoorian begins a run of UK dates this week in support of her acclaimed album Ready For Heaven, released via Fire Records. The tour opens tomorrow (22nd October) in Newcastle, and she’ll be joined throughout by her Decisive Pink collaborator Kate NV and multi-instrumentalist Gal Go, better known as Ignacio Salvadores of King Krule.
The album, which The Fader called “impossible to ignore,” wrestles with heaven and earth, damnation and salvation, and the question of how to use intelligence against rampant, naked greed. It’s a classic forty-minute set of inquisitive pop songs, delivered with a light touch and sharp focus, and it holds on to the faint hope that a programmed electronic beat can break you into a more egalitarian state of mind. At heart, it’s an avowedly human response to the state of the world, and a source of comfort and solace for the listener.
Deradoorian also has two London shows on the calendar: Samhain Ritual at Earth in Hackney on 29th October, with Vanishing Twin, Monde UFO and Stewart Lee, followed by a night at The Lexington on 1st November.
